Ernest ran Nedbank Capital’s corporate finance team (one of South Africa’s largest and most successful) before being asked by the bank to relocate to London to be the CEO of Nedbank’s UK banking operations. He had a further UK CEO banking role when he was appointed by a Nigerian bank to be the CEO of its new UK subsidiary. He was subsequently appointed by HSBC to be its Head of Investment Banking for Africa. Senior board level appointments include Chairman and Non Executive Director, as well as Audit & Risk, Remuneration and Chairman of Health & Safety Committee roles.
